Asus has launched its latest budget smartphone yesterday, Zenfone Max Pro M1 in India at a starting price of Rs. 10,999. This Asus smartphone comes with features like Snapdragon 636 processor, dual rear cameras, stock Android 8.1 Oreo and 18:9 display. If we talk about other phones of this type with similar features, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro will compete with the newly launched device from Asus.
Both, the Asus and Xiaomi smartphones come with some similar features such as Snapdragon 636 chipset, 18:9 display and dual rear camera. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro price in India starts at Rs. 13,999 and now Asus has launched its base variant at a little lesser price has made the budget price segment of smartphones even more competitive in India.

First, let’s talk about the design, both smartphones come with the metal body design. Both devices have a metal unibody design and look almost same.
If we talk about the cameras of the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1, the phone has a combination of either 13MP+5MP or 16MP+5MP camera at the back. The rear camera has features like LED flash and PDAF. The camera clicks good pictures in all lighting conditions. In case of the front camera, there is an 8MP/16MP camera which also has a portrait mode.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro also comes with a dual rear camera setup which has a 12MP primary camera along with a 5MP secondary camera for depth effects. The rear camera comes with LED flash and PDAF for improved focusing and low-light performance. The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 comes with a Snapdragon 636 Octa-core chipset with Adreno 509 GPU. The phone comes in three RAM variants- 3GB/4GB/6GB with 32GB or 64GB Internal storage. The storage can be expandable up to 400 GB via a dedicated microSD card slot.
Now, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro also comes with same Snapdragon 636 octa-core Chipset and Adreno 509 GPU. The phone comes with two RAM variants- 4GB/6GB. It has only 64GB Internal storage variant which is also expandable up to 256 GB.
If we talk about the software, Xiaomi is a bit late to provide the latest Android OS. The Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with Android 7.1 Nougat with the Xiaomi’s MIUI 9.0. While Zenfone Max Pro M1 runs the latest Android Oreo when out of the box.
